A space designed for you!

The MiND Collective is a Living Learning Community on the 4th floor of University Commons, created for students who are neurodiverse or who want to be in a community that provides sensory, social, or academic support. It’s a place where you can be yourself, build friendships, and unlock your potential.

How to Join

Incoming first-year students my join the MiND Collective by filling out the LLC application in their Housing Application. This is a great opportunity for students looking for a floor that creates space with consideration for the neurodiverse mind. 

Activities and Expectations

Students in the MiND Collective community can look forward to support and resources that facilitate a smooth transition into university life with career readiness in mind. 

What to expect as a member of the MiND Collective:

  • Provide opportunities for connection in a welcoming and accommodating space
  • Support well-being with the needs of neurodiverse students in mind
  • Implement universal design strategies that support neurodiverse students and other students who wish to join the community

Learning Strategies:

  • Career fair support (workshops, peer support, pre-career fair tours) 
  • Student Well-being Groups (ADHD support, healthy relationships, motivation, social confidence, social skills & communication) 
  • 1:1 peer coaching supporting campus involvement, social connections, study group formation, executive functioning 
  • Reduced sensory environment and program offerings 
  • Sensory room located on the LLC floor

Where You'll Live

Members of the MiND Collective will live together in University Commons. Dedicated space will be available for sensory needs.

Room Features

  • Apartment-style rooms consisting of a kitchen and living room area, two bathrooms, and four bedrooms
  • Each bedroom features an xl twin bed, dresser, desk and chair per student
  • Two open closets for double suites, one large open closet for singles
  • Cable streaming and 5g internet access

Apartment Features

  • Living room with a sectional couch, table with four chairs, and entertainment stand
  • Kitchen with a microwave, full-size fridge, and an oven
